Bernice (Billings) Harris

A Service of Love and Remembrance for Mrs. Bernice Billings Harris, 80 of Courtland, AL.will be 1:00 pm, Saturday at First Baptist in Courtland with Pastor Christopher Neloms officiating and inhumation in Courtland Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Bernice B. Harris was born on September 13, 1937 in Courtland, AL to the late Amanda Mae and Aubrey James Billings. She confessed Christ at an early age. She served on the Mother's Board at First Missionary Baptist Church until she departed her life on January 31, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Parkway Campus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Willie Mac Harris, five brothers: Howard, James, Robert C., Connie and Samuel Billings, seven children: Mandella, Cinderella, Velvet, Mary, Willie, Eddie Harris and Sylvia McRea.

She leaves a legacy of love and memories to: two daughters, Anglia (Keith) Cater of Lawton, OK, Helean Jones of Decatur, AL; two sons: Bruce Jones of Madison, AL and Jerry Swoopes of Decatur, AL; one godson: Robert (Kay & Paula) Utley; two sisters: Geraldine Billings of Knoxville, TN and Lequata Billings of Courtland, AL; 25 grandkids, 43 great-grandkids and one great-great granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, and other close relatives and friends.
