Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mrs. Bessie Echols, 95 of Moulton, AL. Mrs. Echols passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the resdience. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.  A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM, Saturday at Moulton Church of Christ and inhumation to follow in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.  Public viewing will be Thursday from 2-7 and Friday from 10-7 at the funeral home.

Bessie Lee Boyd Echols was born November 28, 1921 to Minnie Lee Boyd and Charlie Neal Adams (Both Deceased). Grandma Bessie as we called her departed this life on September 2, 2017, surrounded by generations of her offspring at home.

Her kindness touched everyone she knew and met. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was one of the first eight members to be baptized in 1938 under the direction of Brother Marshall Keeble. She was a life-long member of the Byler Road Church of Christ where she attended faithfully. Bessie and best friend, Allue Truss worked together every Sunday, making sure the minister(s) at the congregation received a hot meal. Bessie loved attending gospel meetings from Alabama to Texas and loved a good tent meeting.

Bessie L. Boyd was united in Holy Matrimony to Mearlon Oliver Echols on November 7, 1937, who preceded her in death. To this union they were blessed with nine children, Leon (Rachel) Echols, Carrie Jane Echols (Deceased), Lucion (Hazette) Echols, Marion Bouldin, Azalee Echols, Claudia (Osie) Craig, Johnny Echols, Annette Swoopes (Deceased) and Freddie (Annetta) Echols.

Bessie Lee Boyd Echols worked over 30 years in several departments at the Lawrence County Hospital and retired with excellent work ethic recognitions.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Willie Mina Cowley, Nella M. Carter, Sarah Marie Cook, Minnie Lee Boyd Pointer, Emma Sue Simpson, and Emma Jean Boyd Jones; five brothers, Luther Boyd, Edward Boyd, Carl Boyd, Eugene Boyd, and Ben Boyd.

Left behind to cherish her memories are: 107 Descendants; seven children, 25 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 27 great -great- grandchildren and two great- great- great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret M. Keith, Marie Truss, Hattie Merle McDaniel, Bertha Boyd McDaniel, Willie Gene Boyd and Charlie Adams Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Flower Bearers will be Granddaughters.
