A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Shelton “Toby” Cotner officiating and inhumation in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral. Public viewing will be Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Catherine “Kitty” Lucille Nichols was born in Decatur, Alabama on November 8, 1971 to the late Charles Leon Horne and Joyce Marie Owens Horne.  She departed this life on January 15, 2018 at Parkway Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was employed by Walmart Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by: her husband, Derrick Nichols of Decatur; four daughters, Marie (Javier) Magallon of Sacramento, CA, Miranda Gay, Abby Gay all of Decatur, Jasmine Gay of Hillsboro; her son, Derrick Nichols Jr. of Decatur; two step-daughters, Destiny Nichols of Decatur and Mckinzi Nichols of Eva; two grandchildren, Zoey Carter and Isiah Carter IV; mother-in-law, Betty Jean Nichols of Decatur; grandmother-in-law, L. Julia Jones of Decatur; brother-in-law, Jordan Nichols Jr. of Sheffield; two sisters-in-law, Christine Nichols and Patricia Nichols of Decatur; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
