Master Damon Jamin Mason was born November 20, 2001 at Decatur General Hospital into the care of Mr. James and Sonya Mason. Damon confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Now Faith Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Odessa Sanchious. Damon was a faithful member until his passing.

Master Damon was very educated in his own right. His educational field was with various schools fin Decatur City.  Most people remember Damon as a special needs child, while others remember him simply as a child.  To most individuals Damon couldn’t and wouldn’t do a lot of things, but to his parents, siblings and church family, Damon had a lot of capabilities that others didn’t see. Damon had a drive inside that he didn’t let stop him from doing various things that he wasn’t supposed to do.  During his early childhood, the doctor said that he wouldn’t walk. He did that and more…this is our special child because he was special to us.

Damon departed his life on December 2, 2017 at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL around noon.

Damon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Abraham and Mamie Johnson, Mr. Jimmie D. Staten; a brother, Mr. Keondo Lanier.

Damon was an avid music listener. It didn’t really matter if it was Gospel, country, R&B, or pop, as long as it had a good beat, he would rock to it and loved it.. He had two favorite songs and they are “I Look to You” by Whitney Houston and “This Means War”, by Charles Jenkins!!!
