Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Miss Gloria Ann Dancy, 55 of Decatur, AL. Miss Dancy passed away January 31, 2018 at her residence. A Celebration of LIfe Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Reynolds Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Eddie Walton, officiating and interment in Sterrs Cemetery. Public viewing will be Monday, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Tuesday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Gloria “Ann” Milam Dancy was born on March 24, 1962, to the late Willie Frank Johnson and Teresa Milam Burgess in Decatur, Alabama. She departed this life on January 31, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She attended school in Decatur, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Union Grove P. B. Church and later attended New Beginnings Church where the Reverend Eddie Walton serves as Pastor.
Ann loved people especially her family. She enjoyed watching her favorite stories on television. Her favorite pastime was cooking and she was an excellent cook. She never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her father; one brother and two aunts.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her four children, Kendrick (Christy), Eric, Latrese (James) and Mario Dancy, all of Decatur; her mother, Teresa Milam Burgess of Decatur; a special friend, William Key; seven grandchildren, Adaja, Zakenzey and Mykera Milam, Talia and Latoya Dancy, Honesty and James Snider, Jr.; two sisters, Shelia and Vickie Milam; three brothers, Dennis (Kim) Milam, Antonio Milam and Anthony Jones of Decatur; two aunts, Easter Bibb and Catherine Mosley of Decatur; seven nephews; seven nieces; 13 great-nieces; six great nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
