A Celebration of Life for Mr. Harold L. Blades, III, 21 of Decatur will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Beltline Church of Christ with Bro. Harold Gilmore officiating and inhumation to follow in Decatur City Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Saturday from 12-7 at the funeral home.  Professional services entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Harold L. Blades, III was born on May 18, 1995 in Huntsville, AL to Peggie A. Langford Sutherlin and Harold L. Blades, Jr. He departed this life on June 22, 2016 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.  Harold graduated in May of 2013 from Decatur High School.  He was a junior at Florida International University in Miami, FL where he was studying Pre-Med with aspirations to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. 

At an early age, he was baptized and was a faithful member at Moulton Heights Church of Christ in Decatur, AL.    While attending college, Blades was a huge inspiration at West Broward Church of Christ in Sunrise, FL.  Blades participated in several sports throughout his life; he played baseball, basketball, and football from youth league, AAU travel baseball to collegiate football.  Blades adopted a health conscious lifestyle and enjoyed working out.  Blades displayed an infectious smile every day of his life. He was a positive influence in the lives of several youth and young adults.  He was a fearless travel enthusiast that enjoyed life to its fullest.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Humphrey Chairs and David L.(Nell) Holyfield.

He leaves to cherish his memory: loving parents, Peggie Sutherlin of Decatur, AL and Harold Blades Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a dedicated brother Michael Jalen Sharpley; grandmother, Pauline Chairs- Dancy (Ossie); grandparents, Roosevelt and Dorothy Savage of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandfather, Harold L. Blades Sr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL;  uncle, Jerrold Langford; aunts, Joyce Taylor (Jock), and Evelyn Rice (Jerry); his step siblings include, JaNia Nelson and Shenaya Blades of Florida and Chelseay Blades and Shaquille Blades both of Decatur.  Blades also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

Flower bearers and pallbearers will be family and friends.

Family processional will meet at noon-205 8th Ave NW, Decatur, AL 35601.
