A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Henri Mae Haynes, 97 of Hartselle, Alabamal will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant CME Church with Pastor Rex Jarman officiating.  Inhumation will follow in Hartselle Memory Gardens.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.  

Henrimae Gill Haynes was born February 20, 1919 in Rural Morgan County, Alabama to the late Richard J. and Mary Henry Gill. She departed this life on October 15, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home. 

She attended public school in Bluff City Community in Alabama. Henrimae confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church. 


She was united in marriage in 1947 to Oscar L. Haynes. In 1952, they moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Henrimae was employed as a domestic worker. Henrimae was a loyal member of Lee Memorial A.M.E. Church and served on the Stewardess Board. Oscar and Henrimae returned to Hartselle, AL in 1988 and rejoined Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church and served as a faithful member of the Stewardess Board until her illness. 

Henrimae loved cooking and feeding people. 


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar L. Haynes; brother, Stiner Gill; sisters, Marjorie Howard and Naomi Weeden. 


Henrimae leaves to cherish her memory: her nephew, Richard (Bonnie) Gill of Tacoma, WA; her nieces, Betty G. Gill of Hartselle, Mary (Charles) Coopers of Copalis Crossing, WA, Lucindy Haynes Luckett of Columbus, OH and Elmira Orr of Hartselle; grandniece, Clara (Johnny) Horn of Decatur; grandnephew, Stanley Gill of Bellvue, WA, great grand nephews, Montez Jackson of Federal Way, WA and a special nephew whom she adored, Justin Horn “Boo” of Decatur; brother-in-law, Clarence C. (Sarah) Haynes of Cleveland, OH; longtime friends, Annie Louise Reeves, Margaret Pope and Ann Lyons; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
