 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, 12:00 Noon at Mt. Zion C.P. Church in America, Madison, AL with Pastor James O. Robinson, Officiating and interment in Bell P.B. Church Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Henry Minor was born early Tuesday morning May 31, 1938, in a little town called Powhatan Mine (an Indian town) in Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Willie Minor and Irene Harris Minor. He answered the call from our Heavenly Father, Tuesday Morning, June 20, 2017, peacefully at home.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Gloria Elaine Boone, infant son, Willie Allen Minor, a brother, McKinley Minor and a sister, Georgia Edwards.

Henry confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, Madison, Alabama. He also sung with the Ever Ready Gospel Quartet, Triana, Alabama.

Henry was a fun loving person, loved to laugh, joke and tease people. His favorite pet name for all the small children in the family was “You Little Rat”, and they loved it. He also made friends every where he went young or old, black or white, he loved people.

At an early age, after the death of his father the family moved to the Limestone County area where he attended New Hope School. In 1969 he moved to Kirkwood, Missouri, when Bonanza Mobile Home relocated and remained there for 41 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Eliza Mae Wiggins Minor, Decatur; a brother, Peter Love, Cleveland, OH; three brothers-in-law, Allen (Brenda) Wiggins, Eddie (Mary Helen) Wiggins and James (Linda) Wiggins; three sisters-in-law, Geneva (Elijah) Gray, Gloria (James) Wilkerson and Mattie (Glen) Cain all of Decatur; three granddaughters, Dawana (Cortez) Miller, LaToya Minor Constance Boone of Decatur; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Eddie L.. Edwards, Robert Edwards, Larry Edwards, Tremayne Edwards, Eric Edwards, Ralph Malone, David Love, George Malone Jr., and Hank Love. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons and Elders of Mt. Zion CPCA. Flower Bearers will be: Laura Smith, Delois Eli, Catherine Stinnett, Felicia Blue, Bernice Edwards, Coretta Goodloe, Mendy McDaniel, Sharon Stinnett, Lillie Turner, Erica Wiggins and Mattie Cain.
