Celebration of Life Service for Katherine "Ms. Rina" McDaniel will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1;00 p.m. at Westside M.B. Church, with the Reverend Patrick Franklin, officiating and interment in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose thirty minutes prior to the service. Public viewing will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Katherine "Ms. Rina" McDaniel was born to the late Preston and Lillie Elliott on November 16, 1952, in Lawrence County.

She graduated from Courtland High School in the Class of 1971. Soon after graduation she and her family relocate to Decatur, AL. She later married the love of her life Larry McDaniel.

"Ms. Rina" was blessed with a kind and loving heart, always putting her needs last and everyone else's first. She lived a wonderful life as a housewife and home maker. She was member of Westside Baptist Church, where she served on the kitchen committee with women that she loved.

"Ms. Rina" departed this life Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Parkway Medical Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeremy Elliott; granddaughter, Rikia Thompson; sisters, Earnestine Elliott Johnson, Joann Elliott, Flora Moody, and Mary "Ginger" Jackson; brother Frank Elliott.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Larry McDaniel; a daughter, Tomoko Elliott; an aunt, Annie Pearl Bell of Hillsboro, AL; three sisters, Maggie Elliott, Vivian McDonald and Rickey Sue Elliott; four brothers, Preston Elliott, Albert Elliott, Larry Elliott and Oscar Elliott; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, a special friend/sister for over 45 years, whom she loved dearly Lisa Gholston.

Active Pallbearers will be Bernandize Elliott,  Fernando Elliott, Kenneth Elliott, Tony Elliott,  Albert Elliott, Jr., Eddie James. Active Flower Bearers will be Francesca Washington,                    Tonya Adkins,  Laquita Williams,  Rechika Hampton,  Jockia Franklin,  Omega Swoopes, Yvonne Woodruff, Lauren Caudle, Michelle Davis, Michelle Rice. Honorary Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be Courtland High School Class of 1971.
