Linda Ann (Hughes) Nance
April 23, 1957 ~ September 20, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years OldA Celebration of Life for Mrs. Linda Ann “La-Nan” Nance, 60 of Decatur will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer on State Avenue SW in Decatur with Bishop Thomas D. Strong officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 2-7 at the funeral home.
Linda Ann ‘La-Nan’ Nance was born on April 23, 1957 in Decatur, Alabama to Virginia Scott and the late James Eddie Vinson. She departed this life peacefully on September 20, 2017 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer in Decatur, AL where she served faithfully and she truly loved the Lord. She enjoyed testifying and praising God which was exemplified in her daily life. Sister Nance enjoyed spending time with her family and church family.
She attended Decatur City Schools. She was employed at South Morgan Healthcare. In her leisure, she enjoyed shopping and collecting antiques. She also loved conversing on the phone with people about the goodness of God.
Linda is now eternally reunited with her father, James E. Vinson.
She leaves to cherish her love and memory: her husband of 42 years and best friend, Ronnie Nance; her children, LeSunya Nance Carroll, Ronnie Nance Jr. (Brittney) and Cecilia Nance all of Decatur; four grandchildren, Dylon Anderson, Landyn Nance, Ronnie Thomas “RJ” Nance and Mackenzie Lampkins; her loving mother, Virginia Hughes Scott of Decatur; one sister, Brenda Bailey Rawls (Ralph) of Decatur; three aunts, Doris Hughes McDaniel, Earlene Hughes, and Louise Hughes Bailey all of Decatur; nine sisters-in-law, Jocelyn Nance McDonald, Mollie Pointer, Virginia Boykin, Addie Shackelford, Reajeana Shackelford, Sarah Williams, Teresa Shackelford, Christine Graves and Vivian McNeil; five brothers-in-law, Carnell Shackelford, Jerry Shackelford, Hollis Shackelford, Thomas Lee Shackelford and Paul Shackelford and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church members and friends.
