A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Marie Boyd Truss, 87 of Moulton will be noon Wednesday at Byler Road Church of Christ in Moulton, AL, with Brother Robert Monroe officiating and inhumation in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Marie B. Truss (Big Mama) was born in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Carlton and Minnie Lloyd Boyd on May 12, 1930.  She departed this life on November 17, 2017 at NHC Nursing facility, Moulton, Alabama.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Roosevelt Truss. At an early age Marie was baptized into the Church of Christ. She worked at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by: her grandson, Garcia Boyd Jr; sisters, Bessie Echols, Emma Jones, and Minnie Lee Pointer; brothers: Luther Boyd, Edward Boyd, Carl Boyd, Ben Boyd and Eugene Boyd.

Marie is survived by her loving daughter: Earlean (Lionel) Sheffey of Moulton, AL: one granddaughter, Tonya (David) Fletcher, Moulton, AL; one grandson, Kareem (Michelle) Boyd, Huntsville, AL; one granddaughter-in-law, Shelia Boyd, Decatur, AL; two great-grandsons, Correy (Brandi) Boyd, Trinity, AL and Alexander Boyd, Huntsville, AL; two great-granddaughters, Kendall and Madison Boyd, Huntsville, AL; one great great-grandson, Corbin Boyd, Trinity, AL; two sisters, Hattie McDaniel and Bertha Nell (James) McDaniel, Moulton, AL; one brother, Willie Gene Boyd, Moulton, AL; one sister-in-law, Purfice Boyd, Moulton, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends, Barbara, Joyce, Judy, Mary and TC.

Pallbearers will be Michael Boyd, Tommy Webb, Nathan Taylor, Posey Gholston, David Boyd and Demetrius Echols. Flower Bearers will be Aretha Tate, Jennifer Taylor, Jayla McDaniel, Shelia McDaniel, Brandi Robinson and Janice Echols..
