Marion Orr Jr, 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit Michigan. He was born on November 12, 1931 in Decatur, Alabama to Marion and Inez Orr.

He married Catherine Thompson-Orr.

He served in the United States Army and worked as an Electrician for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. He loved reading.

Marion was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Thompson – Orr ; his parents Marion and Inez Orr, his sister Mary Bumpus and his brothers Charles, Willis, Carl and Thomas.

Marion is survived by his daughter Catheryn (Ferdinand) Goins of Madison, AL and son Marion Orr Jr II (Irene) of Land O Lakes, Florida. Three step children Robert Griffin of Austin, Texas, Barbara (James) Russell of Pittsburgh, PA and Mary Griffin of Marietta, Georgia; A sister Charlsie Mae Orr of Decatur, Alabama and his grandchildren Ferdinand Goins Jr. of Scottsboro, Alabama, Timothy Goins of Osaka, Japan, Dr. Karnesha Goins of Washington, DC, Marion Isaiah Orr of Land O Lakes, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home in Decatur, Alabama at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, May 20, 2017with Dr. G. Lynn Herring officiating.  Burial will follow in  Decatur City Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama.
