A Celebration of Life for Ms. Patricia Cohn, 68 of Madison will be noon, Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Macedonia C.P.Church in America with Pastors Richard Long and Larry Bailey officiating and inhumation to follow in Madison Memory Gardens.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Sunday from 2 till 6 PM and Monday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

One fall day back in October of 1948, Georgia Mae and Minor Cohn, Sr. were expecting their fourth child. The baby was born in Decatur on the 22nd, their “first female”.  She was named Patricia Ann Cohn. Three brothers (Anthony, Bobby and Leonard), preceded her in death.

Patricia attended the (all Black) elementary school known as Moulton Heights Elementary School in Moulton Heights. Her junior high years were completed in the city of Hartselle, AL, at Morgan County Training School (M.C.T.S.). In the summer of 1964 she left Alabama to live in Stamford, CT, with her mom’s youngest sister, Geraldean Ross and her husband Robert E. Ross, Jr.  She entered Stamford High School and graduated in 1967.

Aunt Pat had a deep love for children. She moved back to Alabama and was employed at General Electric for approximately twenty-seven years. She retired from G.E. on June 30, 2004.

She was a member of the Alpha S.D.A. Church in Decatur, AL, under the leadership of J. W. Jones. She served as an usher; choir member; secretary of the Sabbath School; A.Y.S. Leader; V.B.S. Coordinator and teacher in Song-Sign Language.  Patricia later moved to Madison, AL and united with Triana S.D.A. Church, under the leadership of Pastor Richard Long.  She became the church pianist and remained faithful until God’s call.  She always had a smile and hug or you.

Her memory will forever be cherished and in the heart of her loving and devoted, only child: Sunita L. Cohn of Madison, AL; three sisters, Janice (James) Pointer, Sheila (Rev. Sammy) Foster and Paula (Jesse) Moody, all of Decatur, AL; two brothers, Minor Jr (Reva) of Jacksonville, AR and Eugene (Evelyn) of Decatur, AL; sister-in-law, Mary Cohn of Decatur, AL; two aunts, Recordia Birgans and Delilah Fletcher of Decatur, AL; uncles, Larry (Delores) and Cortez (Gloria) Fletcher of Decatur, AL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
