A Celebration of Life for Ms. Shelia M. Garrett, 56 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. James C.P. Church in America with the Reverend Vicki Mayberry officiating, the Reverend Robert Hereford Sr. eulogist and the Reverend Michael Jones, host pastor.  Inumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Wednesday from 2-7 and Thursday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Ms. Shelia Marie Garrett was born in Morgan County on January 1, 1960 to the late Alberta T. and Eural Lee Garrett. 

Shelia confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Wayman Chapel A.M.E Church in Decatur, Al. She departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital.

Shelia attended High School in Russellville AL. and then later in 1988 graduated from International Career Institute in Decatur, AL. with a certification as a Nursing Assistant. 
Her life was devoted to being a good daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Shelia never met a stranger no matter where she went. She had love for everyone. She enjoyed attending church and serving God, until her health began to fail. Shelia enjoyed her social life while still making time to spend with her family and friends, whether it was shopping or traveling. She loved to cook and would invite everyone to come by and eat, no matter what the occasion. “Auntea Shelia” is what everyone called her and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by: he parents, Eural and Alberta Garrett; one son, Tyrone Garrett; one brother, Eural L. Garrett Jr; and one sister, Euralean Garrett.

She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Edward Garrett (Christy), Cedric Garrett, Shenicka Nichols (Bryan) all of Decatur AL, Michael Garrett (Kisha) of Sheffield, AL and Robert Garrett (Shaconda) of Russellville, AL.;  six  grandchildren; five sisters, Patricia “Gail” Williams (Clifford) of Huntsville, AL, Sherrie Brown (Phillip), Teresa Bolden (John), Annie Woods and Joshua Garrett, all of Decatur, AL;    two brothers, Rodney E. Garrett (Debra) of Decatur, AL. and Joe Pickett (Willie Dean) of Athens, AL; one aunt, Dorothy Swopes of Decatur, AL; a special sister in law, Faye Kellam Koger of Tuscumbia, AL; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives and friends.
