Mother Garth was born on July 8, 1924 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Henry Clemons and Mattie Garth.  She entered into eternal life on January 13, 2014 at her residence. Mother Garth attended Morgan County Training School.  She was married to the late Willie Garth.  Mrs. Garth was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a marvelous homemaker. She was attentive and supportive to her family and church. She was a community babysitter and loved all the children in the community. Parents could rely on her taking care of their children.

Church where she was a Mother of the church.   She was the founder and organizer of the Usher Board.   Mother Garth committed to the Lord early in her life.  She demonstrated a quiet yet powerful life in God until the end of her journey. Her spirit of service and generosity to her family and community served as a living testimony to the power of faith and the goodness of God.

She was preceded in death her husband, Willie P. Garth, her parents; grandmother, Lizzie Clemons; sisters, Betty Bailey, Henrietta Clemons, Clara Hodges, Sara Lynch, Johnetta Clemons; and  brother, Jessie Clemons.
