Funeral Service for Mrs. Alice Williams,91, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Friday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leo Fuqua officiating. Inhumation will follow in Lindsey Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Alice Mae Elliott Williams was born March 23, 1933 to the late Will Elliott and Maggie Griffin Elliott in Lawrence County, AL. She departed this life on April 26, 2024 at the Decatur Health and Rehab Center in Decatur.
She attended schools in Lawrence County. She was a housewife and mother. Her cooking was out of this world. Everyone loved her pinto beans and turnip greens.
She loved listening to and singing mostly gospel music, especially Lee Williams. She never met a stranger and loved her whole family.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; a daughter, Brenda Hines; a son, L. W. Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Betty Mayes, Barbara Williams, Nancy Williams and Alice Carter (Lewis), all of Decatur; three sons, Sammie Williams of Moulton, Charles Williams and Don Williams (Evonne) of Decatur; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; cousins, other relatives and friends.
