Mother Mosley was born August 27, 1944, in Town Creek, Alabama, to the late Robert Allen, Sr., and Francis B. Fuqua Warren. She was raised by her late grandparents, Thomas Sr., and Hattie Fuqua. On March 24, 2024, she departed this life at her home in Courtland surrounded by her loving family.

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.C. Yarbrough. In 1963, she joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Wilson. There she served in various capacitie such as an adult Sunday school teacher, usher board member, church secretary/treasurer, President of the Mother Board, Senior Choir Member, and a member of the Missionary Society and she was very involved in the Muscle Shoals District Convention, where she served as the Women's Education Department President from 2010 to 2017. She was often invited to speak at various programs throughout the district. While attending Vacation Bible Study the Reverend Bakari Brown asked Mother Mosley how it was going at the Grove. She would respond, "It's always Pleasant at the Grove!" This became a phrase th church still uses to this day. She was also a member of Spring Creek Pride #542 Order of the Eastern Star.

Patty Ann grew up in and around the Town Creek/Courtland area. She graduated from Central High School in May of 1963. On July 6, 1963, she married her soulmate of 60 years, Woodie Mosley. Four children were born to this union, two of whom preceded her in death: Arvin Eugene and Katrina Lynn Mosley.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Willie Warren, brothers Robert Alle Jr. and Robert Carter, sisters Effie Mae (James) Horton and Bernestine Connie, and her son-in. law, Staff Sgt. Samuel Buckner Jr.

Mother Mosley was a kind, compassionate, and classy lady who always carried herself with grace and sophistication. She was the epitome of a people person and made it a point to help anyone she could. If you experienced hard times, she made it a point to offer encouragement and assist in any way possible. Her home was open to anyone she encountered. Not only did she have a love for people, but a love for fashion and interior design. Her home always looked and smelled like it was out of a magazine. An 'Olympic Shopper,' she was known to literally shop til YOU dropped. It was nothing to spend a 12-hour shift in one store, whether looking at every item inside or talking to anyone she came in contact with.

She was employed with the Lawrence County Board of Education, where she taught Head Start in Moulton, Alabama, and drove the school bus for students with intellectual disabilities. Often, these students would return home with her. She was employed with R.A. Hubbard until her retirement. She wore many hats to some; she was a counselor, advisor, motivator, and second mother.

Mother Mosley leaves to cherish her memory: a stepmother, Ella Allen of Courtland, AL; a devoted, loving husband, Woodie Mosley, Courtland, AL; two daughters, Quennis (Michael) Stevenson of Decatur, AL; Vera Buckner of Madison, AL; adopted daughter: Daylon Mason of Decatur, AL; three stepchildren; Janet (Julius) Green of Marietta, GA; Matthew Draper of Courtland, AL; Tim Stover of Decatur, AL; god-daughter: Dr. Valerie (Ron) Reed; daughter-in-law: Trophelia Mosley; brothers: David Lee Jones of Sheffield, AL; Lester (Lucy) Brown of North Courtland, AL; Robert Brown of Decatur, AL; a devoted brother Andrew (Renita) Allen of Harvest, AL; sisters: Gleria McVay of Sheffield, AL; Birt Ann Puryear and Fannie Catherine Mason of Courtland, AL; brother-in-law: Elmer Mosley Sr., of Chattanooga, TN; sisters-in-law, Mary A.
