Shelia Marie Jones

Funeral Service for Ms. Shelia M. Jones, 65, of Athens, Alabama will be noon Tuesday April 2, 2024, at Kings Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Roderick Stallworth officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Monday April 1, 2024 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Ms. Shelia M. Jones, was born in Morgan County, Alabama on June 29,1958 to the late Mr. John L Maxwell and Mrs. Lorene Jones Maxwell. She departed this life peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 24, 2024 in Athens, Alabama.

She attended Austin High School. She was employed by the Lurleen B. Wallace Center in her early years. Ms. Jones confessed Christ at an early age. She had several church affiliations over the years but always considered King's Memorial United Methodist Church her family church home where she attended most of her life. 

Shelia's life consisted of being a loving mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She took great pride in her family which they truly knew were the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, David, Shirley, Lillie, and Martha.

Shelia leaves to carry on her legacy of love: two children, Natasha (Frank) Jones of Athens, Alabama and Fabian (Tameaka) Jones of Decatur, Alabama; two sisters, Clara Jones of Birmingham, Alabama and Suranda(Donald) Battle of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, John (Tammy) Jones of Decatur, Alabama and Dr. Eugene (Dr. Janette) Rogers M.D. of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Chris Jones, Decatur, Valerie Jones, Gadsden, Tenesha Bell, Akyah Jones, Breylon Jones all Decatur, Zion Jones of Athens; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
