A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018, at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer, with Bishop Barry Strong and Pastor Juwanda Coleman officiating. Interment will be in the Sterrs Cemetery. Public visitation will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a Family Visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Alfred Donnell Tucker was born in Decatur, Alabama on December 31, 1957 to the late Thomas James Tucker, Sr. and Lucille Glover Tucker. He departed this life on September 29, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Alfred graduated from West Morgan High School where he played basketball and football. He attended Alabama A& M University and later graduated from Calhoun Community College.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. He later joined New Greater St. Andrews Church. When he relocated to Bowling Green, he united with Alpha & Omega Pentecostal Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon.
Alfred enjoyed fishing and coaching in the youth league. He loved the Tennessee Titans where he worked security and also was a cook. He was known for his delectable barbecue chicken and his secret white sauce. He was employed with General Motors in Decatur, Alabama. In 2010 he relocated to Bowling Green, KY to work for the Corvette Plant. He retired in 2015 with 33 years of service.
Alfred leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Reshonda Toney Tucker of Bowling Green, KY; children, Lakeisha (Michael) Baker of Decatur, Dr. Maurice (Dr. Constance) Tucker of Vancouver, WA, Brian Rice of Huntsville, Precious Toney of Bowling Green, KY, and Travis (Marissa) Matthews, Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Lafferrell Matthews of Omaha, NE, Marcus Wallace of Decatur, Tamera (San Antonio) Guster-Childs of Bowling Green, KY and Donald Guster of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Harriette Toney-Ofomata of Decatur; grandmother-in-law, Ollie Toney of Decatur, siblings, Thomas James Tucker Jr., Patsy Thorne, Gean Johnson, Henry Tucker (Queen), Jerry (Bessie) Tucker, Felica (Ronnie)Tucker, Forrest (Latonya) Tucker all of Decatur; aunts, Doris Jones, Dora Tucker, Carrie Tucker all of Decatur, Elizabeth (Al) Scott of Hempstead, NY and Freda Tucker of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
