Andrea "Ann" Kay (Tapscott) Russell

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Andrea "Ann" Tapscott Russell, 53 of Tanner, AL. will be noon Saturday at St. James C.P.Church in America with The Reverend Michael Jones officiating and inhumation in Sterrs Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral with Reynolds Funeral Home.  Mrs. Russell died May 26, 2019 at her residence.  She is the wife of Warren Russell and the daughter of The Rev. Carol Franklin (Rev. Willie), Willie James Jones (Claudia) and Thomas L. Cain.

One beautiful Autumn morning, August 21, 1965 in Hartselle, Alabama, God blessed the Reverend Dr. Carol Cain Franklin and Willie James Jones and Thomas Lee Cain with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Andrea Kay Tapscott. An angel was dispatched from heaven on the afternoon of May 26, 2019 to Sanderfer Road, in Athens, Alabama to bring her back home to be with the Lord.

Ann accepted Christ at an early age and united with Solomon Temple M.B. Church in Athens, Alabama. She wa.s currently a member of St. James C.P. Church in America under Pastor Michael Jones, where she worked with the Sunday School, Bible Study and the choir.

Ann, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a very outgoing, and loving person. She never met a stranger. She had a great love for people. She attended schools in Tanner, AL, graduating with Tanner High School Class of 1985. Ann was united in Holy Matrimony to Warren Russell. She was employed by Tyonek, Inc. of Madison, Alabama until she became disabled.

Ann was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kattie Sue Tapscott Sharpley, Eliza Jones and Lawrence Baker; a brother, Michael Hughes; stepdaughter, Lashea Henderson;

Ann leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Warren Russell of Athens; her loving and devoted mother, the Rev. Dr. Carol Cain-Franklin (the Rev. Dr. Willie B.); sisters, Adrienne Carol Hines (Michael), Kenyata Jones (Sean), Lisa Malone Demetrice Ellison, Kandace Walters and Patreece Jones and Natasha Wilson (Brian); brothers, Shon Baily (Cynithia), Brandon Cain, Thomas Dangerfield and Reginald Jones (Shacey), Terrance Jones; brothers-in-law, Ricky Harris, Wayne Harris (Yolanda), Billy Ray Harris (Kim), David Lee Harris, Bobby Banks, Earnest Harris,; sisters-in-law, Emma Ferrell, Mattie Elliott, Denise Caldwell Bell (Anthony), Bobbie Allen, Cynthia Patterson, Patricia Russell and the Rev. Barbara Strowbridge (Charles); step-siblings, David Franklin, Daphene (Cecil) Abernathy, Annette Turner, Jean (Walter) Watts and Teresa Collins; stepdaughters, Quanisha Henderson, Talisha West and Kiara West; stepsons, Warren Bernard West; special nieces,  Zabri Wilson and Katelyn Hines; special nephews, Bryson Wilson and Antonio Langford; godmother, Christine Bell; goddaughters, Zenobia Troupe and Morgan Jones; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
