A Celebration of Life for Mr. Andrew Butler, Sr. “Buddy Powers,”90 of Decatur will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Peter M.B. Church with the Reverend Jerry Baker officiating and inhumation in Blackwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral at the church. Mr. Butler departed this life on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Andrew was born in Priceville, Alabama (Morgan County) to the late Adeline Powers and Ruben Butler. He accepted Christ at an early age in his life. He was a retiree of Conagra Foods as a truck driver with 30 plus years of service.
Mr. Andrew was preceded in death by: his wife, Eva Mae Matthews-Butler, his parents, sister, Mary Powers Mosley and brother, John Garth
He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons, Garland (Alma) Butler of Madison, Andrews (Clarissa) Butler, Derrick Paul Butler, Bernard Butler both all of Decatur; two daughters, Deborah (Scott) Bedford of Harvest, Natasha Barker of Decatur; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Leonard Matthews of Dallas, TX, Dr. Calvin (Belvia) Matthews, two sisters-in-law, Francis Swoopes (Jessie) Little, Patricia Childs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Flower Bearers will be family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Mosley, Charles Mosley, Johnny Mosley, Calvin Mosley, Jerry Mosley and Wayne Mosley.
