Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mother Annie P. Bell, 90 of Hillsboro, Alabama. Homegoing Service will be held at Bethlehem P.B. Church on Saturday, April 20, 2019, 12 Noon, with The Rev. Matthew Hampton, Eulogist and The Rev. Antwan Plott, Officiating. Public viewing will be Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Elliott Cemetery.
Mother Annie “Pearl” Bell was born August 16, 1928 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Bolan & Bessie Swoope Bell. She departed this life on April 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and would walk to Ebenezer Church to attend worship service. She later joined the Bethlehem P. B. Church where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She loved Bethlehem with all her heart and did not like having to miss service.
She attended Ebenezer Church School and later attended Hillsboro School.
Pearl worked at Caldwell Bakery for many years and she loved to cook. She spent her entire life taking care of others, whether it was domestic work, taking care of a sick family member or caring for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Virgil Bell; one daughter, Belinda Gail Bell Porter; two grandsons, Keoandra Bell, Markeith Hampton; four brothers, Oscar, Frank, Sidney, and Robert Bell; four sisters, Laura Bell, Lillie Mae Elliott, Ellen Bell and Bessie Mae Bell; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude and Carrie Bell.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted granddaughter, Jasmine Bell of Hillsboro, AL; one son, Andrew (Linda) Bell of Decatur, AL; four daughters, Ann (Thomas) Williams of Trinity, AL. Linda (Rev. Matthew) Hampton of Fairbank, AK, Emma Scruggs and Carolyn Bowman of Hillsboro, AL; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons and Honorary Flower Bearers will be Mothers of the Church. Active Pallbearers will be Jakobe Jones, Jayden Jones, Fredrick Porter, Terry Scruggs, Connor Scruggs, K'Lebb Hill. Active Flower Bearers will be Aubrie Bowman, Makalya Hill, Frederica Simmons, Jennifer Porter and Seven Jones.
