Bertha Jean (Jones) Sheppard

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Bertha Jean Jones Sheppard, 83 of Danville will be noon, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Gibson Chapel Methodist Church with the Reverend John Mason officiating and inhumation to follow in Lindsey Memorial Gardens.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Bertha Jean Sheppard (Bert) was born on February 19, 1935 to the late Howard and Tempie Wiggins Jones.

She was married to the late Clifton Sheppard Sr.  She departed her life on February 21, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.

Sis. Sheppard accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She continued her journey with Pastor Yarbrough.

“Bert”loved her family and friends and would help anyone that she could. She loved fishing, gardening, playing cards and shopping for grandkids and great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James jones; a sister, Willadean White; three kids, Cecil Sheppard, Clista Sheppard and Rachel MaHaley.

Bertha leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Clifton Sheppard (Roberta), Lillian Sheppard (Scotty) and Rose Sheppard all of Oakville, AL and Roberta Brooks (Tim) of Baytown, TX; one nephew, Willard McDaniel (Cookie); 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
