Lamon confessed a belief in Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Missionary Church in Decatur, Alabama. He later moved his membership to Victory Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Carter Videau. Lamon loved the Lord and it showed in the way he lived and loved life.
“Mon,” as he was affectionately called, loved drag racing and tinkering with his old truck. He was an entertainer and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed making others smile. Mon had a big heart and loved to help others in need. Anyone who knew him experienced his love and his talent for bringing joy to others. He was never a stranger to anyone he met. However, his greatest joys were his nephews, Connor and Carson. While he loved making others smile, it was his nephews who brought out his bright smile.
Even though he was very sick for a while, Lamon was a soldier who fought hard. His strength and dedication would not allow him to feel defeated. He was determined to fight until the end.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Leandrew and Hazella Walker; grandfather, Charles Rogers. and cousin, Cameron Cullen.
Lamon leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his parents, Calvin Walker of Decatur, AL and Karina Walker of Hillsboro, AL; a loving brother, Corey (Angela) Walker of Trinity, Alabama; dedicated and caring grandmothers, Deloris Pruitt of Hillsboro, AL and Georgia Rogers of Decatur, AL; two fun-loving nephews, Connor and Carson Walker of Trinity, AL; three loving aunts, Joyce Bevels and Janice Bevels of Decatur, AL, and Carletta (Earnest) Cullen of Birmingham, AL; three devoted uncles, Velvis Priest of Dayton, OH, Karle (Jan) Rogers of Decatur, AL and Dr. Eugene (Jeanette) Rogers of Nashville, TN,; a devoted friend, Kanetta Orr of Hartselle, AL; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.
