Cellestine Smith Smiley, 75 of Decatur died August 15, 2017.   A Celebration of Life will be noon, Tuesday at Wheeler Chapel Church in Courtland and inhumation to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00-6:00 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Monday from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cellestine Smith Smiley was born on December 24, 1941 to Levolia Smith, Sr. and Janie Minor Smith in Lawrence County, Alabama.

She attended school in Lawrence County, graduating from Central High School on June 30, 1960.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Courtland, AL. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Don Smiley, Sr., in 1960.

Mrs. Smiley was employed as a CNA at Home Health Plus in Chicago, IL for several years.  She loved her family, shopping, cooking, traveling and meeting people She never met a stranger. She was a loving person.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ben and Jimmy Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Don Anthony Smiley (Dyanne) of Athens, AL, Priscilla Smiley of Chicago, IL, Jacquenette Harper (James) of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Rosalita Elliott, Marlin Braden, Clara Sherrod (Earnest) Jenetta Young all of Decatur, Nadine Clopton (Larry) of Courtland, AL, Alice Ricks (Thomas) of Hillsboro, AL, Deloise Smith (Jimmy) of Decatur, Tracine Austin (Roy) of Hillsboro, AL and Brenda Suggs (James) of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Andrew Scruggs (Willo) of Cleveland, OH, Levolia Smith, Jr. of Courtland, AL, John Smith (Dorothy) of South Holland, IL, Jerry Smith, Rufus Robert Braden (Connie), Fred Smith (Ann) all of Decatur, Bobby Smith (Dawanna) of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
