A Memorial Service for Mr. Charles Edward "Rabbit" Brown, Sr., 68 of Decatur will be 1:00pm Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Westside M.B. Church with The Reverend Dr. Sylvester Truss officiating.
Charles Edward Brown was born January 14,1950 in Hillsboro, Alabama to the late Evelyn Jarmon and late Erskine Brown Sr. Charles was the second born of 11 children. On January 8, 2019, the sudden battle came to an end. His war was over and the victory is given to God Almighty!
Charles attended Lakeside High School and served as a band member. He completed his education at US Job Corps. He was employed by Wayne Farms and retired in 2012 with 20 years of service.
Charles received Christ at an early age and joined Westside Missionary Baptist Church. Charles faithfully served as a member of the Male Chorus and Mass Choir.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles leaves three amazing children; ten beautiful grandchildren and four adorable great-grandchildren. Children: Roderick (Renee) Brown, Dermietrice (Eric) Birdsong and Charles Edward Brown, Jr. Grandchildren: Jalen, Alishia, Eric II, Kierra, Miya, Morgan, Joshua, Roderick Jr., Leah and Genesis. Great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Christopher, Kameron, Eric Jr. He is survived by ten siblings, Erskine Jr. Brown (Olivia), Charles Brown, Linda Batts (Anthony), La Freda James, Dennis Brown (Debra), Cathy Miller (Ricky), Sandra Garth, Tony Brown, John Williams, Jennifer Parker (Marlowe); step-brother, John Allen Williams (Betsie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be members of the Lakeside High School Class of 1969.
