A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, at Jerusalem P.B. Church, 12 Noon, with Pastor Eddie Walton, officiating and burial in Oakland Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be Saturday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Charles William Harney, Jr."Spotio" was born May 15, 1955, to the late Charles William Harney, Sr. and Bertha Lee Harper in Limestone County, Alabama. He departed this life on February 6, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Hospital.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of New Beginnings Church where the Rev. Eddie Walton is Pastor. He attended school in Limestone County. He worked as a farm tractor operator.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Harvey, Jr. and his wife, Lillie Mae Harney.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: one child, Sabria Dortch (Michael) Gladney of Decatur; one stepchild, Billy Wayne (Farrah) Harney of Decatur; two sisters, Linorise Thatch (Tommy) Crear and Delois Thatch Walton-Harper of Decatur; two aunts, Johnnie Mae Thatch of Harvest,, AL and Elizabeth Brooks of Louisville, KY; brothers-in-law, Marcus Dortch, Carlos Dortch and Waldon Dortch all of Decatur, the Rev. Fred (Sharon) Jefferson of Hillsboro, AL; two grandchildren, Aundrea Dortch and Tyesha Dortch; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Harper, Barry Thatch, John Eddie Harper, Dexter Troupe, Eric Troup and Eric Walton. Flower Bearers will be Myrtha Ingram, Beverly Miller, Camay Miller, Aundrea Dortch, Tiffany Gladney and Faith Gladney.
