Charles Torain, 62 of Hillsboro died August 16, 2017.  A Celebration of Life will be noon, Tuesday at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. Stanley Torain officiating and the Rev. Ronald Meriweather host pastor. Inhumation to follow with military honors in Decatur City Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:30-7:30 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Sunday from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ezzard Charles "Charlie" Torain was born on December 28, 1954 in Hillsboro, Alabama to the late Posie and Annie Mary Torain. He departed this life peacefully at his residence on August 16, 2017. 

He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a devoted member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, AL where he served on the deacon board and sang in the men's choir while also being involved with other church activities. 

He graduated from Courtland High School and then went on to join the United States Armed Forces where he served his country honorably. He obtained an associates degree in Business Administration from Calhoun Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Athens State University. He worked for The United States Postal Service after completing his degree. He then worked for the state of Alabama at The Lurleen B. Wallace Center for 25 years where he retired as an accountant. Afterwards, he served in a similar position for The North Alabama Regional Hospital. He also completed training from the Alabama Fire College and received completion as a First Responder. Through the years, he was kind enough to provide his services to family and friends as their personal tax preparer. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, jogging, collecting knives, reading, Alabama football, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. 

Charles is now eternally reunited with his parents. 

He leaves to cherish his love and memory with, his former wife of nineteen years and best friend, Francelia Torain, Decatur Alabama; his children, Ja'Marque Torain, Decatur, Alabama, Chasity Pettigrew (Robert), Madison, AL, Heather Ingram (Anthony), Tuscumbia, AL, Candas Rogers (Karlos), Athens AL, Mistye Torain, Muscle Shoals, AL, and Julieonna Taylor, Decatur, AL. seven grandchildren: Paige, Xavier, Jaxon, Jacob, Karleigh, Avri, and Charlestyn. Six sisters: Katie Dockery, Emily Pace (Ernest), Rose Davis, Jewel Torain, Belvlyn Glover, and Mendy McDaniel. Seven brothers: Matthew Torain (Ruby), Mose Torain, Nathaniel Torain (Lucy), Rev. Stan Torain (Sherry), Kerry Torain (Lavonyia), and Wesley Torain (Lesa); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
