Clarence Tucker Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Clarence Edward Tucker Jr., 64 of Decatur will be noon, Wednesday at Moulton Height M.B. Church with Bishop Don A. Hurth officiating.  Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery.  The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.  The public may view Mr. Tucker on Monday from 2-7 and Tuesday from 10-7 at the funeral home.

Clarence was born on April 11, 1954 in Decatur, Alabama.  He departed this life on July 5, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born to the late Mary Fannie Moore Tucker and Clarence Tucker.  He accepted Christ as a young man and baptized at Moulton Heights Baptist Church.

Clarence moved to Hempstead, New York at the age of 15 and obtained his GED.  Clarence worked part time at the Hempstead Golf Course as a caddy until his illness. Clarence also worked at Bloomingdales as a model and security guard.  He retired from the Hempstead School System with 30 years of dedicated and loyal service as a security officer.

He was loved by all of his co-workers with the school system and the golf course.  They all loved and showed him so much love and generosity since he relocated to Decatur in October 2016.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; James Harold Moore and Ronnie Ray Moore.

Clarence leaves to cherish his loving memory: his sister, JoAnn Tucker Brown of Decatur; his aunts, Elizabeth Scott of Hempstead, NY., Doris Jones, Dora Tucker both of Decatur; a very special niece, Regina Corbitt (Eddie) of Hartselle, other nieces, Sonya Elliott, Karmen Elliott, Mekesha Tapscott (Jacqus), Carolyn Williams (Reco) all of Decatur and; one nephew Marcus Elliott of Decatur and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special appreciation and thanks to Marvin Elliott, Jean Elliott, Donnell Stover and Gean Johnson for all that they did to help us in his care.
