Cornelious “Nita” Ann (Tapscott) Draper

A Celebration of Life for  Mrs. Cornelious  “Nita” Ann Tapscott Draper, 60 of Hartselle, AL will be noon Saturday at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Gilmore officiating and Bro. Dewayne Tapscott eulogist.  Inhumation will follow in Hartselle Memory Gardens.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Thursday from 3-6 and Friday from 10-7 at  Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Cornelius Ann Tapscott Draper was born into this world on February 14, 1959 in Hartselle, Alabama to the late Arbie L. Tapscott and Ruthie Nell Turney Tapscott. Nita heard the sound of the trumpet of GOD calling her home; “early” on Sunday morning, October 20, 2019.

Nita became a member of the Pennylane Church of Christ at a very young age; and later moved her membership to Moulton Heights Church of Christ in Decatur, AL.

Nita was a 1977 graduate of Morgan County High School. She went on to earn degrees from Calhoun Community College and Athens State University which resulted in her being employed by NASA for 30 years, until her retirement.

Nita was also preceded in death by her brothers, Patrick Tapscott and Pastor Laymon R. Moore.

Nita continues to live on in the memories of: her son, Marques (Chiquita) Tapscott ; brothers, Danny Tapscott (Margarita) and Dewayne Tapscott (Tera); sister-in-law, Efay Moore; stepmother, Etoria Tapscott; grandchildren, Serenity, Marcus, Aliviya, Caleb (Mookie) and Deago; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
