A Celebration of Life for Ms. Deborah Louise Davis Richards, 58 of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Limestone County, Alabama will be noon Saturday, December 22, 2018 at New Heaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Earnest Bailey, pastor officiating. Inhumation will follow in Thatch-Mann Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The public may view Ms. Richards on Friday from 12-6 at the funeral home.
Deborah entered this life on Saturday, December 26, 1959 in Limestone County Alabama to Garner Davis and Texana Harris Davis. She departed on Friday, December 14, 2018 at her residence in Indianapolis.
Deborah, affectionately known as “Mickey” to family and friends, was a 1978 Tanner High School graduate and retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of First Sergeant, Airman. She was employed as an Anthem Blue Cross Customer Service Representative.
She accepted Christ under the leadership of the Reverend Henry Pendleton at New Heaven C.P. Church in Belle Mina, AL and after relocating to Indianapolis united with the New Direction Church under the leadership of Sr. Pastor Kenneth Sullivan Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father, Garner Davis; sister, Patricia Davis and brother, Don Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Sean Richards of Indianapolis, IN; mother, Texana Davis of Athens, AL; two sisters, Helen (Lorenzo) Davis of Athens, AL and Beverly (Phillip) Smith of Madison, AL; niece, Kim Davis of Athens, AL and Jasmine Smith of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Sean Richards Jr, Solomon Richards, Aaron McElwain and Anthony McElwain, all of Indianapolis, IN; uncles, Roy Lee (Jean) Davis and SFC Retired Kenneth W. Davis, all of Athens, AL; aunts, M. Louise Green of Athens, AL and Mae (Rev. Sammie) Milton of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
