A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018, 12 Noon, at Mt. Moriah U.M. Church with the Rev. Kelvin Jones, Officiating. Interment will be at Curry's Chapel United Methodist Church. Public viewing will be Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Dorothy Ann Draper Campbell was born in Morgan County, Alabama on January 29, 1945, to the late L. C. and Lula Tapscott Draper. She departed this life on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.
Dorothy was truly a child of God who confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Curry’s Chapel Church. She later moved her membership to Mount Hope Baptist Church.
Dorothy loved talking to people, singing and especially loved watching her “Westerns” and “Soap Operas” on television.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Franklin “Cracker” Campbell and brother, Sherman Draper.
Dorothy leaves to cherish and honor her memory: two daughters, Lisa Gaines (Waymond) of Talucah, AL and Meloney Campbell Robinson of Somerville, AL; four grandchildren, Cortez Campbell (Jessica) of Somerville, AL, Desmon Campbell Pegues (Victoria) of Decatur, Ceanna Robinson of Somerville, AL and Johnathan Johnson of Talucah, AL; four great grandchildren, Kiara and Kylen Campbell of Decatur, Aaleyah and Isaiah Campbell of Somerville, AL; two aunts, a very devoted aunt, Edith Williams of Hartselle, AL and Carolyn Leamon of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Lillie Clopton (Mike) of Decatur and Mary Baldwin of Arlington, TX; a special friend and future son-in-law, Christopher Griffin of Prospect, TN; a very devoted cousin, Lorenza Draper of Somerville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lorenza Draper, Will Campbell, Stevie Williams, Charles Black, Calvin Jackson and Jeffery Williams. Flower Bearers will be Nieces, Cousins and Friends.
