A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Chris Brown, officiating and inhumation in Trinity Mountain Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Earl Vaughndorsey Elliott, Sr. was born on April 9, 1945 in Decatur, Alabama, to the late Archie Elliott Sr. and Annie Stewart Elliott. He departed this life on January 13, 2018 at his residence.

Earl attended the Decatur City Schools, graduating from Lakeside High School in 1963. He also attended Miles College. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur, Alabama.

He retired as a Security Supervisor for Reynolds Metal Company.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clara Slaughter and Joseph Elliott.

He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Baugh Elliott of Decatur; six children, Earl Vaughndorsey Elliott, II of Muscle Shoals, AL, Faye Williams (Douglas) of Trussville, AL, Joseph Aaron Elliott (Mary) of Eagle Mt., UT, Micah R.  (Yelitza) Elliott of Biloxi, MS of Decatur, AL, Stanely E. (Andrea) Elliott and Martin L. Elliott all of Decatur, AL; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Glenda Stevenson, Carolyn Mosley, Archie Elliott Jr. (Yvonne), Charles Elliott (Angela) all of Decatur, AL and the Reverend Adolphus Elliott (Ona) of Huntsville, AL; one aunt, Earlene Stewart of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
