Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Edward Allen Jr. will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer, with Bishop T. D. Strong, Officiating. Interment in the Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Edward Allen Jr. was born March 9, 1935, to the late Edward Sr. and Florida Smith Allen.  He departed this life on July 2, 2017 at his home in Decatur, AL.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. He married Yolanda Sangster Allen on January 27, 1996. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and papa. In 1999, Edward retired from General Motors with 28 years or service. He loved his family and listening to the Blues.

He was preceded in death by his late parents; Edward Sr. and Florida Allen Grayson; two sisters, Maggie Reed and Sadie Ludley; five brothers, Leroy, Hanoree, Dave, Leo, Willie James Allen.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: a wife, Yolanda Fay Allen of Decatur; 10 children, Stephanie, Loree, Edward Jr., Gregory Allen of Anderson, IN, Brenda, Kenneth Allen of Decatur, Reginald (Jackie) of Merrillville, IN, Kenneth (Kelly) Sanders of Elkhart, IN, Julia (James) Gary of South Bend, IN, Jamese Harrison (Brian) Meredith of Oxon Hill, MD; brothers, George Allen and David (Candace) Allen, Sr., Anderson, IN; sisters, Barbara J. Allen, Louise Allen, Anderson, IN, Lena (William) Brown, Decatur, AL, Loree Williams and Dessie Jackson, Birmingham, AL; 24 grandchildren; goddaughter, Resheka Ashford;  special friend, Natalie Hill of Decatur; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be family and friends.
