Ellen Geraldine (Payne) Davis

A Celebration of Life for Ms. Ellen Payne Davis, 62 of Decatur will be noon, Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Antwon Plott officiating and inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Wednesday from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.

Ellen Payne Davis was born September 3, 1956 to the late Rueben and Missouri Ross Payne in Decatur, Alabama. She departed this life on May 30, 2019. She confessed her hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a member of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama. She was united in marriage to the late Clifford Davis.

Ellen loved to sing, cook, and spend time with her family. She brought so much joy and laughter to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband and one brother, Rueben Payne Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory forever: three daughters, Pebbles Payne and Nya Davis (Connie Russell) both of Decatur, Alabama and Kendra Prince (Danny Miller) of Huntsville, Alabama; one son, Shaun Payne of Opelika, Alabama; two sisters, Berda Forney of Trinity, Alabama and Wanda Rhodes Ellis of Huntsville, Alabama; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Selinda Payne of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two devoted nieces, Leslie Edwards of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Taja Payne of Decatur, AL. and a host of  other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
