A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ellistine E. McDaniel, 83 of Decatur, AL will be noon, Saturday at Bell P.B. Church with Pastor Benjamin Burt officiating and inhumation to follow in Bell Church Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.  Public viewing will be Thursday from 2-7 and Friday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ellistine Esther Wiggins McDaniel, the third child of thirteen, born to the union of the late Allen Wiggins Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Fennell Wiggins, in Morgan County, Alabama on January 26, 1934 a very cold day. She departed this life on Friday, May 26, 2017.

She was a member of Bell Primitive Baptist Church, Decatur, Alabama. She attended the Bell Church School in the Nebo Community, Moulton Heights Elementary School and graduated from the Morgan County Training School, Hartselle, Alabama in 1951. Married to the late Richard McDaniel Sr. She was employed for decades in Domestic House Service. A very hard worker, she loved to cook, and was willing to give a meal and help anyone.

Ellistine was fondly known as “Steamboat” to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward Tyrone and Carl Samuel Clopton, her parents, sister, Hattie Marie Wiggins, and brothers, Charlie, Melvin, Sam,, Theo Wiggins and James Simpson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: six sons, Richard (Jeanette) McDaniel Jr., Decatur, Alabama, Willie (Sharon) McDaniel, Hillsboro, Alabama, Roy McDaniel, Michael Clopton, David (Pam) Clopton, Decatur, Alabama and Ray Clopton, Montgomery, Alabama; four daughters, Mendy McDaniel, Decatur, Alabama, Coretta (Thomas) Goodloe, Trinity, Alabama, Lillie Turner, Decatur, Alabama and Meshelia (Toronto) Wynn, Cartersville, Georgia; three brothers, Allen (Brenda) Wiggins Jr., Eddie (Mary Helen) Wiggins, and James (Linda) Wiggins, Decatur, Alabama; four sisters, Geneva (Elijah) Gray, Eliza (Henry) Minor, Gloria (James) Wilkerson and Mattie (Glen) Cain, Decatur, Alabama; special grandsons, Willie McDaniel Jr. and Anthony Burgess; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, a long time care giver and friend, Regina Orr; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jason Burgess, Richard McDaniel III, Stephen McDaniel, Julius Miland, Joshua Turner, Keith Turner, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: Marcus Bolden, Jamison Jones, Terrance Jones, Darius Powers and Timothy Wiggins. Flower Bearers will be: Granddaughters/Great-Granddaughters, April Burgess, Meosha Clopton, Miciah Clopton, Miciyah Clopton, Rosheika Clopton, Amy Goode, Ariel McDaniel, Keisha Taylor, Shankerria Taylor and Ty'Keisha Taylor.
