For over 71 years, Frank Albert Allen was a source of influence and inspiration to his family and many others until his soul winged its flight from this world to a place of eternal rest on December 7, 2018 in Decatur, Alabama.

A lively and charismatic family man with an undeniable sense of humor, Frank was born on December 30, 1946 in Decatur, AL. The first of six children born to Sherman Allen Jr. and Ella Mae Lyle Allen, Frank distinguished himself as an excellent student throughout his elementary, middle, and high school years. He attended Cherry Street Elementary School and Lakeside High School where he participated in many extracurricular activities. He was an excellent musician and drum major for his high school band. As class president, he graduated with high honors in the top of his 1965 graduating class. Upon graduation, he attended Tennessee State University and Alabama A & M University.

An industrious worker, Frank was employed as a chemical laboratory technician at Amoco Chemicals for over 25 years until he retired in 1999. He was dependable, trustworthy, and appreciated by his employer as proven by his time of service.

His memory will be forever cherished by his devoted wife Judy Jackson Allen with whom he was united in marriage on April 22, 1972. They remained committed to each other for more than 46 years until his passing. Frank loved his wife and worked hard to provide for her and his family.

His hobbies included playing golf and tennis as well as maintaining a local home repair business. Most importantly, he enjoyed his role as the patriarch of the Allen family where his wonderful sense of humor and lively spirit was always center stage.

Frank became a member of King’s Memorial United Methodist Church at an early age. While there, he served as President of the Trustee Board, Usher Board Member, handy man, parking attendant and in various other roles throughout the years. Frank was a member of the River City Golf Club, Alabama A & M Booster Club, and an avid follower of Alabama A & M Football. Frank saw the best in people as he inspired and encouraged them to live up to their full potential.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Judy Jackson Allen of Decatur, AL; one daughter: Sabrina (Guido) Perdomo of the Dominican Republic; four grandchildren: Miguel Brown of Bronx, NY; Marquis Allen of Memphis, TN; Ajah (Travis) Cohn and Guido A.
