A Celebration Service for Mrs. Helen Davis, 64 of Athens, Alabama will be noon Sunday, October 13, 2019 at New Heaven C.P. Church in America with The Reverend Ernest Bailey officiating and inhumation in Thatch-Mann Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Friday from 2-6 and Saturday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Helen Marie Davis began her earthly journey on May 27, 1955 in Limestone County Alabama born to Garner Davis Jr. and Texana Harris Davis. She shed her earthly garments and transcended home to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Helen was a 1973 graduate of Tanner High School. She was employed by Athens Lingerie for approximately 20 years and also employed briefly by Limestone Assisted Living.
She married Lorenzo Davis and was a devoted, loving wife for 42 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker - maintaining a well-kept meticulous home. She loved her family dearly.
Helen accepted Christ under the leadership of Reverend Henry Pendleton at New Heaven C. P. Church in Belle Mina, AL where she remained a faithful servant on the Usher Ministry and Kitchen Committee. She loved her church and was passionate toward Christian service. You would find her regularly serving as a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her father, Garner Davis; sisters, Patricia Davis and Deborah Louise Richards; and brother, Donald Davis.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Lorenzo Davis; mother, Texana Davis; daughter, Kimberly Davis; son, Derrick (LaQuetta) Davis; granddaughter, Malikua Bledsoe and grandson, Dante Patrick, all of Athens, AL; one sister, Beverly Jean (Phillip) Smith of Madison, AL; uncles, Roy Lee (Virginia) Davis and SFC Retired Kenneth W. Davis, all of Athens, AL; aunts, Mary Louise Green of Athens, AL and Mae (Rev. Sammie) Milton of Huntsville, AL; in-laws, Jessie (Betty) Davis Jr. of Athens, AL; Patricia (Wayne) Moseley and Delorise Pruitt, all of Decatur, AL; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
