Johnny Reeves Obituary

A Celebration of Life Service for Johnny Carver “Juice” Reeves will be at noon Saturday at Redeeming Love Outreach Ministries with The Reverend Emma White officiating. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL on Monday, July 15th.

Johnny Carver "Juice" Reeves was born January 9, 1958 to Mr. James & Elder Lizzie Glenn Reeves of Coosada, AL.  Johnny transitioned this life on July 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bro. Reeves confessed Christ at an early age and joined the East Chapel M.B. Church where he also was united in holy matrimony to Priscilla Steward on May 11, 2001.  In his last days, he was a dedicated, faithful, and devoted member of Redeeming Love Outreach Ministries. He worked in the Men's Ministry, parking lot attendant and many other duties in the church, volunteering wherever needed.

He was united in marriage to Priscilla Steward on May 11, 2001.

During his life "Juice" served his community in any way he could and never met a stranger. He always gave to others, especially giving them the love of Jesus. He met people and left people with a hardy "God Bless You". He was employed with the Decatur City Public Works as a heavy equipment operator where he retired with over 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Reeves of Coosada, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Priscilla Reeves; four children, Katrinka Reeves, Cassie Larry, Cathy Larry and Calvin Larry; four children in love, Nolanda Smiley, Shauna (Billy) Jackson, Marcus (Meghan) Smiley, Christopher (Jill) Smiley; granchildren,  Fanysha, Israel, Isaac, Kamarria, Tychicus, Paul, Ariel, Ariah, Talia, Caleece; sisters, Patricia (Jerry) Washington, Wincie (Raymond) Thomas, Mary Parker, Christine (Eugene Sr.) Jackson, Cathy (Leroy Jr.) Summerlin; brothers, Henry (Sandra) Reeves, Robert Reeves, and Jamie (Debra) Reeves; special godchildren, Lakeisha, Tasha, Antonio and Xavier Swoopes; a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
