Mario Cameron Owens

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Mario Cameron Owens, 51 of Hillsboro will be 1:00pm Sunday at Mt. Olive P.B. Church with the Rev. Timothy Swoope officiating and the Rev. Fred Jefferson host pastor.  Inhumation will follow in Owens Cemetery.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. 

Mario was born to Gloria Dean Owens Bouldin and John Homer Reynolds on November 14, 1966 in Decatur.  He departed this life on October 2, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Parkway Campus.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of the Mt. Olive Church in Hillsboro, Alabama.

He was affectionately called “Yo”, “Cruise”, “and George”. He was known for his beautiful smile. Mario attended school in Lawrence County, Alabama. He furthered his education by attending Calhoun Community where he received his associate degree as an Electrician.  He was employed at Gemstone in Decatur.

Mario was a compassionate, loveable person that loved to cook, clean and was a superb dresser. He had a beautiful voice and could really sing. Mario loved to help others and would give help whenever the need would arise. He took care of his brother, Terrell whenever he became ill.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, James Samuel Owens and Cornelia Swoope Owens, John Reynolds and Marie S. Reynolds.

Mario is survived by: his loving mother, Gloria Owens-Bouldin; his stepfather, Mizell Bouldin both of Decatur; one son, Mario Cameron Owens Jr, Decatur; three brothers, Terrell Owens and Reggie Reynolds both of Hillsboro and Kelvin Reynolds of Tuscaloosa; three uncles, Donald Owens and Coynis Owens both of Hillsboro and Edward Reynolds of Atlanta, GA; two aunts, Dorothy Smith of Hillsboro and Martha Robinson of Decatur; one great-aunt, Louise Jones; a loving and caring cousin, Katie Frances Owens a very special friend, Andreia Maclin all of Hillsboro, AL; and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
