A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Mary K. Williams Fletcher, affectionately known as “Kat”, 68 of Decatur will be noon Thursday at King’s Memorial United Methodist Church with Bishop Don Hurth officiating and inhumation in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 3-7 and Wednesday from 9:30-5:30 at the funeral home.
Kat was born in Morgan County, Alabama on January 3, 1950, to the late Charlie Lee and Ella Ruth Tucker Williams. She departed this life on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
She professed hope in Christ at an early age.
Mary graduated in 1968 from Morgan County Training School. She worked at Monsanto Chemical Plant and retired from General Motors. Her hobbies were spending quality time with the love of her life, her seven grandchildren, JahKese, Justin, Quiara, Kennedi, JaKobe, Ronald II, Jalen; and her seven great grandchildren, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bobby Ray Cain.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory: three devoted sons, Nathaniel Jerome (Christian), Ronald Dwayne (Nicole) and Fredrick Lee Fletcher (Christel); siblings, Opal J. Williams, Larry “Cocoa” Williams (Dorothy), Bessie Williams Matthews (Chester), Charlie Howard Williams (Sylvia), Mitchell Coleman (Sandra), Allen Coleman (Brenda) all of Decatur, Linda Williams Haley of Nashville, TN; four aunts, Doris Jones and Dora Tucker of Decatur, Elizabeth Tucker Scott (Al), of Hempstead, NY, Fredda Tucker of Memphis, TN; a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; God blessed her and her sibling with another mother after the death of her biological mother, Mrs. Delsie Williams; a special friend, Mrs. Delilah Fletcher both of Decatur, Ms. Imogene Burrell of Athens, Sharon Nash of Decatur.
