Visitation for Mr. Milton Lee Jarmon, 96 of Decatur, AL. will be from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, October 27 at Reynolds Funeral Home and  A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 PM with the Reverend Willie B. Jackson officiating.  Interment services will be on Tuesday at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield, OH with Wanton-Horne Chapel of Peace Funeral Home directing.  Public viewing will be Thursday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Milton Lee Jarmon was born December 30, 1920 to the late Oliver Jarmon and Sade Maxwell Jarmon in Pratt City, AL. He departed this life October 21, 2017 in Decatur, AL.

He attended the Courtland Negro High School in Courtland, Alabama. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a 2nd Lt. after eight years of service in World War II.

He was united in marriage to Cassie Mae Smith and lived in Los Angeles, CA until her death. He then located to Cleveland, OH and was later united in marriage to Bernice McCollum. He worked as a city bus driver in Cleveland until retirement. He was the oldest of 13 children. He was loved and respected by anyone that came in contact with him.

He had a sweet quiet spirit. He was highly knowledgeable, mentally, scientifically and spiritually. He loved playing checkers, cards and golf. He was an avid sports fan.

He left Cleveland in 2013 and located to Decatur, AL, where lots of his family lived. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Milton” by his nieces and nephews who adored him.

Mr. Jarmon was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; four sisters, Bobbie Nell Jarmon, Ida Campbell, Sarah King and Ernestine Glenn; two brothers, Charles Jarmon and Lawrence Jarmon.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life: six sisters, Esther Brown of Atlanta, GA, Evelyn Williams of Decatur, AL, Marjorie Steward of Hillsboro, AL, Alberta Walker of Cleveland, OH, Marva Reid of Moressa Valley, CA and Doris Jarmon of Decatur, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
