A Celebration of Life for Mr. Roger Lee “Spud” Johnson, 64 of Decatur, AL. will be 2:00 PM. Sunday at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with Bishop T.D. Strong officiating.  Inhumation will follow with military honors in Calvary Memorial Gardens.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Friday from 3-7 and Saturday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Born on July 17, 1953 in Chattanooga, Tenn. to the late Frank Johnson Sr. and Ola Mae Nance Johnson. He departed this life peacefully on November 28, 2017 with his family by his side.

Brother Johnson was a member of United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer.  He also wasa loyal and devoted usher at St. James C.P. Church in Decatur Al. 

He graduated from Courtland High School and later enlisted in the United State Navy.  He was retired from General Motors Plant.

Roger enjoyed playing pool, shooting basketball, bowling, photography, and collecting Volkswagens, traveling and spending quality time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Johnson (Judy, Chattanooga, TN) and Alphonso Johnson

He leaves to cherish his love and memory: his loving and faithful wife of 37 years, Denise Bailey Johnson; his children, Roger Bailey of Decatur, Tykishia Johnson Anderson (Jamaal) of Atlanta, Ga, Shuntilia Johnson (Mallory) of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Akarah Banks, Shaniya Bailey, Jaydin Bailey, Kimora Bailey, Zayden Bailey, Austin Anderson and Kyson Anderson: one great grandchild, Londyn Pleasure; mother-In-law, Louise Bailey; five brothers, Frank Johnson (Joyce) of New York, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Johnson (Cynthia), Kenneth Johnson (Ruth) , Charles Johnson; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Burks, Amanda Spangler (Lee) Vickie Strong (Thomas), Annette Bradley (Paul) all of Decatur; one brother-in-law, Joe Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins, church members and friends.
