Miss Sharon Sue Sykes was born to the late Mr. Cleveland “Money Dixon” Sykes and Ms. Lizzie Mae Bentley on August 20, 1962 in Hillsboro, AL.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. She graduated from East Lawrence High School in 1980 and studied nursing at Calhoun Community College from 1980-1982.
Sharon Sue Sykes was a “Mom” to many. She truly believed in the Bible and believed in discipling as the Bible says. Sometimes just a sit on her front porch and a conversation was sufficient for many. Her beauty was in the strength of faith, daily prayer, and her kids.
Sharon was preceded in death by her loving father, mother; and brother, Dwight Lamar Sykes.
She leaves to mourn: her loving children, Donta O’neal Sykes (Amanda Hudson), Fredrick Lamont Sykes (Kaleatha) and April Sykes Bush (Dazz); 10 grandchildren, Tarik, Tason, Trace, Jordan, Tray, Ariyana, Kashin, Kingston, Kaden and Kyler; siblings, Leo (Mary) Gray, Barbie Sykes, Tony Duckett, Jeanie (Ronald) Culpper, Joanne Wise, Gary Sykes, Cleveland Sykes, George Sykes and Michael Sykes ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
