A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Sophia Shackelford Green-Bolden, 51 of Hillsboro will be noon, Saturday at Canaan M.B.Church with the Reverend Ronald Merriweather officiating and inhumation in Foster-Davis Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family wiill receive friends Friday from 6-7 at the funeral home.
Sophia R. Shackelford Green Bolden, the second eldest child born to the late Ernest Lee Shackelford and Plezella Foster Shackelford, was born on January 1, 1967, in Morgan County, Alabama. She departed her life on July 23, 2018. She was a “Woman of God”, mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend.
She accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, AL, where she served as a member of the Kitchen Committee.
She worked for many years at International Papers as a production worker. Sophia enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepchild, Courtney Henderson and brother, Walter L. Shackelford.
Sophia is survived by: her husband, Paul L. Bolden; two daughters, Brittney S. Green and Ro’chella P. Shackelford (Chris); one son, Quentin T.O. Green; eight stepchildren, Andreta N. Green, Andrea Stovall (Fredrick), Shenna Matthews, Ashley Henderson, Siera Muhammad, Nickholas Kennedy, Cortez Randolph, Brandon; three siblings, Lee Cortez (Catherine), Lisa D. Shackelford, Cory Cordell Shackelford (Latasha); sister-in-law, Machelle Shackelford; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five nieces, Jessica, Phoenicia, Bianca, Janiya and Madyson; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be Cousins and East Lawrence High School Class of 1985.
