Addie Sue McGuire Foster began her journey on Saturday, September 3, 1960, and went on to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born in Lawrence County, Alabama to Mary Lee Hood and the late John Thomas McGuire.

She attended school at Central High School in Courtland and Decatur High School. She enjoyed softball and basketball while in school. “Sue,” as was called by her family and friends was fearless, bold, courageous, and strong in both spirit and body. She was a true Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Sue worked in several positions but worked mostly with Diakin Construction. She was known for her kindness, giving heart, hard work, dedication, endurance, electrical/mechanical knowledge, strength, and dexterity.

Addie Sue was the cool, fun, and hip aunt to be around. She had style and a sense of humor but could turn up the dial to stern at the drop of a heartbeat. You met the David who fought Goliath when you met Sue.

At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Pentecostal House of Prayer, where she was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. While attending, she became a ministress of the Gospel and had a passion for leading young people. She also started the Sunbeam church group.

Preceding her in death were: her father, John Thomas McGuire; her siblings, Thomas McGuire, Marilyn Griffin, Jean Ashford, Nikia Gratsy, Geraldine Goode and Katherine Scruggs: and stepfather, Bobby Ray Cohn.

She leaves to cherish her precious life and memory: her two sons, Lee Edward (Risha)McGuire and Quinton Foster; her grandchildren, Terosha McGuire, Maddox McGuire, Makahi McGuire, Bryson McGuire and MaNiya Dean, Elijah McGuire and Kaylee McGuire; great grandchild, Addisyn Williams; mother, Mary Hood Cohn; her siblings, Charles (Gwendolyn) Cooper, Carl (Loretta), Cooper, McKinley McGuire,, Ethel Hood, Eloise Allen (Phillip), Victoria Gray (Elijah) all of Decatur, Phyllis Hampton of Guntersville and Johnny Jones of Chattanooga, TN; her aunt, Lillie Garth of Toledo, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
