Graveside Service for Mr. Albert “Bud” Elliott 79 of Decatur, Alabama will be 11;00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Calvary Memorial Gardens with Elder Benjamin Burt officiating. Public viewing will be Friday from 10-5 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Albert Elliott was born April 11, 1941 to the late Elex and Elsie Johnson Elliott, Sr. in Trinity, AL. He passed on September 27, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Elliott attended Tennessee Valley School as a young boy.
Mr. Elliott, affectionately call “Bud” by his family and friends, retired from Decatur Utilities where he worked for 32 years. After retiring, he worked nine years for Johnson Bates & Legg Construction. He enjoyed and loved grilling, working in the yard, listening to Blues, planting a big garden every year, but most of all, he loved his family and friends.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gloria Vines; four sisters, Ruby Broughm, Leathan Hayes, Louise Elliott and Bernice Swopes; two brothers, Robert “John” Elliott and Elex Elliott, Jr.; a niece, Connie Elliott; four brothers-in-law, Willie Boykin, Lawrence Morrow, Herman Powell, and Floyd Boulden; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Elliott and Deborah Duke; one daughter-in-law, Janease Elliott; one son-in-law, Terry White; one step-daughter, Katrina Wilkerson; one step-son, Jeffery Wilkerson.
Mr. Elliott leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Wanda Jean Wilkerson Elliott of Decatur; five children, Janice Thompson, Bobby Elliott, Jr., Dorothy Franklin (Chris), Albert Elliott, the Rev. Connie White; two brothers, Jimmy Elliott and Harold Elliott (Irene); three sisters, Sara Boykin, Elizabeth Swoopes (William), Linda Watkins (Andrew) all of Decatur; seven sisters-in-law, Ernestine Elliott of Decatur, Rebell Elliott of Trinity, Shirley Morrow, Mercie Powell, Phyllis Boulden, Karen “Wilkerson, Yolanda McKevely of Decatur; three brothers-in-law, Willis Wilkerson (Annie), James Wilkerson (Gloria) and Elmer Wilkerson; 21 grandchildren, Sharon Mclin (Theron), Shanice Elliott, Terri McDaniel (Rickey), Taleesha Elliott, Malinda Franklin, Tanisha Elliott, Mantez Thompson, Washanta White, Zachary Franklin, Christina Franklin, Lynn Franklin, Taneisha Taylor, Shawana Vines (Adarius) of Nashville, TN, Sidney Vines (Chelsea) of Birmingham, AL, Quentin Wilkerson, Quincey Wilkerson of Decatur, Jeffery Smith, Lulu Smith, Ardiana Wilkerson, Shay Wilkerson and Angelique Wilkerson; 37 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
