Amari Elijah Deloney

Graveside service celebrating the life of Mr. Amari Elijah Deloney, 16 of Decatur, AL will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sterrs Cemetery with Elder George Franklin officiating.  Public viewing will be Friday from noon till 5:00p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Amari Elijah Deloney was born on December 19, 2003 in Decatur, AL to Shenna Matthews and Fabian Deloney  He departed his life on July 4, 2020 at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital.

As a child Amari accepted Christ at a young age. He became a member of Union Grove P.B. Church. He was a Junior at Decatur High School. He was a starter on the Basketball and Baseball team. He was an inspiration to his little brother and sister and his host of cousins.

Amari was preceded in death by a great grandmother, Willie Mae Ricks; an uncle, Courtney Henderson; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Deloney.

He is survived by: his mother, Shenna Matthews of Decatur; his father, Fabian Deloney of Decatur; his brother, Shamar Matthews, his sister, Nia Symone Deloney and her mother, Krishna Birt both of Decatur; grandparents, Jacqueline Matthews Moore (Eric), Delores Matthews (Freddie) all of Decatur, Paul Bolden (Terrina) of Hillsboro, Fabian Matthews (Peggie) of Decatur; aunts, Brittney Matthews Buttleman (Adam),  Kelley Deloney Buford (Perry), Rayna McGuire, Mildred Hinns, Mary Matthews, Ashley Henderson all of Decatur, Ciara Muhammad of Hartselle; uncles, Brian Bellman, Ronald Matthews (Faye) and Brandon Turner all of Decatur; great grandmother, Artelia Bolden of Decatur; godmother, Besstina Foster of Decatur; a host of great aunts, great uncles; cousins and friends.
