Mr. Andrew Smiley Jr. was born on August 17, 1941 in Hillsboro, AL to the late Andrew and Wyonie Hill Smiley. He departed this life and gained his angel wings at his residence in Athens, Alabama on October 11, 2021.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro, AL. until he moved to Chicago, IL.

As a young man, he had a dream to someday own his own auto shop. So, he attended Malcolm X College in 1971 where he earned a degree in Business Administration. After receiving this degree, he became the owner and operator of several successful businesses. He also became a well respected pillar in the community for over twenty years. He made sure that his work ethics were second to none by providing excellent customer service to his restaurant patrons and his auto repair customers. He was a perfectionist and was diligent about teaching others to be the best version of themselves.

He was a man of smooth character and he had an untempered demeanor. He was family oriented and took great pride in instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship in his children.  He enjoyed life to its fullest and sincerely loved cooking, fishing and  traveling. He was an adventurer and would go wherever his feet would take him. During his last days on earth, he could be heard humming “Glory, Glory Hallelujah”. His legacy will forever live through every life he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wyonie and Andrew Smiley Sr. and his grandparents Clifford and Estella Hill.
