Bertha Elaine Hubbard aka “Muh” was born to the late Ermey McKelvy and Ethel Lee McAfee on March 25, 1935.  She departed this life when God called her home on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.

Elaine accepted Christ at an early age and was a very active member of Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church. Elaine formed the group, The Hubbard Gospel Singers, along with her three children many years ago. On occasions, The Hubbard Gospel Singers would sing at the church.

Elaine dearly loved her family. She had a loving heart and spirit for people. Her charm, witty sense of humor and smile brightened rooms as well as people’s lives. She never met a stranger and always made everyone she met feel welcomed and loved. Her favorite saying was “We are all God’s children, and we have to love one another.”

Elaine was a member of Progressive Chapter #464 Order of Eastern Star in Moulton, AL.

Elaine retired from Good Year Tire and Rubber Company after working there for several years.  Also, she devoted much of her time as a caregiver to the elderly community through her work with The Community Action Center.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memory with many loved ones: three loving children and two stepchildren, Chrisanthia Hubbard of Moulton, AL, Marcie Gilbert of Decatur, AL, Gary Hubbard of Moulton, AL, Linda Verge of Leighton, AL and Kelia Hubbard of Hatton, AL; grandchildren, Rena’ Hubbard, Patresa Hubbard, Marquisa Hubbard, Dion Hubbard (Viviana), Leah Gilbert, Crystal Davenport (Deon), Laron Pruitt, Unitta Young and a bundle of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Special family friends, Harry Montgomery and Andy Montgomery (Laura). She leaves behind many cousins and friends. She spent her latest years in the company of her family and friends. Elaine “Muh” will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
